A Military Life is about 1SGT Henry Clarence Wilson Sr.s twenty-four years of honorable service in the United States Army. All stories within this autobiography contain factual information intended to preserve the record of my successes and other service during my exemplary Army career. My story is not written to focus on discrimination within the Army during my service.
Although I did not recognize certain forms of discrimination directed at me until several years after the fact, it is clear that discrimination did occur. At appropriate points, I will include accounts of discrimination I witnessed while serving in the Army. In addition, I will share stories of discrimination I encountered during my employment within the Federal Government following my retirement.
I also feel obligated to include sub-stories of service from my life. These sub-stories are meant to provide context and support for the main story. All sub-stories and other information included here are factual as well.
