Terhune penned many books about the dogs he kept and trained on the Sunnybank estate throughout the 1920s and 30s. Wolf, is Terhunes classic story of the funny-looking purebred collie who was somewhat an outsider with a matching personality. Wolf the dog himself became famous posthumously when his heroic death was recorded in nearly every paper in America.
