Any thoughts that retirement from the Army might bring about a more sedentary life-style were soon scotched, when offers of employment, occasionally of a hazardous nature, came to fruition in the Philippines, Hong Kong, Thailand, Mozambique, Algeria, Mali, China and the UK.
