About this Product
The Wedding Plans and Other Short Stories is a curious and poignant collection of 12 short stories inspired by the vibrant younger generations of the Jaffna Tamil diaspora.
The history, culture, traditions, religious beliefs and practices, as well as food of the Jaffna Tamilian diaspora are brought to life in the plots and characters. The assimilation of their people into the local societies at their new found lands are evident. These compelling stories are written in a myriad of practical real life themes ranging from love and marriage, to family, career, adventure, health, younger children and even pets. Everyday life, in the fast lane is brought to life by interesting characters, humour and reflections as seen through a diaspora Jaffna Tamilian looking glass.
