The Wacky Field Day

The Wacky Field Day is the third book in the series about Mrs. Williams gifted class. It continues the theme of the two books that preceded it of encouraging intrinsic learning in children. While informative, there are character lessons that are included as the children work on research and projects and give presentations to the class regarding their work. Character development of Mrs. Williams and the children is revealed both in class and in their outside activities. Mrs. Williams students study various countries and learn leadership skills as they prepare for the upcoming field day and deal with life issues such as illness, bad decisions, bullying, helping others, and most importantly, belief in yourself and your abilities. The illustrations provide a fun way to envision the story.
