The Voyage of the Beagle

Charles Darwins account of the momentous voyage which set in motion the current of intellectual events leading to The Origin of Species. The Voyage Of The Beagle, also known as Darwins Journal of Researches, is a vivid travel memoir as well as a detailed scientific field journal covering biology, geology, and anthropology that demonstrates Darwins keen powers of observation. A fascinating glimpse into the world (parts of it anyway) as seen through the eyes of Darwin. For those not so much interested in the biology parts, there are plenty of accounts of the tribes and the people he came across.
