The secret Language of Birds

The Secret Language of Birds

Written and Illustrated by Melissa Guimarمes Alves

Meet Julia, a brave little ladybug with a big heart and a dream-to find others like her and bring them back to the magical forest she calls home. Join her on a colorful journey filled with friendship, discovery, and the magic of nature.

This delightful tale was imagined and told by Melissa Guimarمes Alves, a young author and illustrator with a deep love for art and the natural world. Born in Brazil during a winter afternoon in 2015, Melissa grew up surrounded by creativity, beauty, and the gentle rhythm of Waldorf education. From Brazil to Denmark and now in Canada, Melissas adventurous spirit and artistic soul have blossomed through travel, nature, and imagination.

At just ten years old, during a season of homeschooling in Winnipeg, Melissa told this entire story aloud in one inspired moment-word by word, from beginning to end. Over the next two years, she lovingly brought it to life with her own illustrations.

This book is a celebration of childhood wonder, creativity, and the joyful magic of storytelling. Perfect for young readers and anyone who believes in the power of dreams, friendship, and a curious little bug named Julia.
