Nandor Pekar escaped communist Hungary in 1956. Trained by his father to survive in SAS type fashion for years in the heart of the Zemplen Mountains; when the moment of impact arrived in 1956, Nandor ensured the Russians were faced with a well-organised, fearless populace, which improvised with amazing bravery.
