Maddy Cartwright has never made an independent choice in her life. The daughter of a decorated military officer, her life (and the turns it took) have always been dictated by someone else. In the aftermath of tragedy, Maddy is forced into a spotlight she never wanted. When a job opportunity in London lands in her lap, Maddy decides that, even if she didnt make the choice to be there, shell make the most of the opportunity. She makes a plan to become Maddy 2.0, an independent woman who makes her own decisions, learns new things, has casual flings, and above all else, stays the hell away from the public eye.

Alex Windsor, aka Prince Alexander Benedict Charles David, second in line to the British Crown, has been hiding for years. After humiliating himself on a very public stage at a young age, his family did everything to shield him from the British press and their cruelty. But a prince can only hide for so long and with the announcement of his older brothers engagement, duty calls. Alex finds himself thrust back into public service-and the public eye-and isnt quite sure how to balance his sense of obligation with his desire for a "normal" life.

Brought together by circumstance, Maddy and Alex have undeniable chemistry. But being with Alex means facing public scrutiny, something that Maddy swore shed never do again. And besides, Maddy 2.0 is about self discovery, not romance. When it comes down to it, Maddy will have to decide whether there is room in her life plan for facing her fears and adding love to the list after all.
