Sixty Years of Visits to Sixty Countries

In the years following the Second World War, Hazel Day went on a modest trip to Ireland, and began a whirlwind journey of journeys upon which, sixty years later, she is only just beginning to stop and reflect. Both travel memoir and guidebook, informative and idiosyncratic, Hazel Days unquenchable passion for travel is explored in Sixty Years of Visits to Sixty Countries. In her travels from ocean to ocean, Day sights world wonders and perceives great differences, but also unveils vast similarities, between people and places across the globe. Her writing takes in thousands of years ancient history and, across the span of her own visits, charts the sweeping historical change sustained in the second part of the twentieth century.
