Real Gas Flows with High Velocities

Authored by one of Russias most respected aerospace researchers, this book is devoted to real gas flows with regard to physical and gasdynamic effects accompanying high-velocity flight in the air or in other atmospheres. In particular, it discusses the re-entry of bodies into the atmosphere of the earth and other planets. Chapters devoted to these problems are preceded by the presentation of the general theory of supersonic-and to some extent subsonic-flow, which is necessary for the comprehension of high-velocity gas dynamics from the overall methodological point of view.
