07-Apr-2020

As part of its corporate social responsibility and joining national efforts to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus, Jarir Marketing Company has announced a commitment of SR20 million ($5.3 million) toward the Ministry of Health’s Health Endowment Fund. The move aims to support the efforts of the Saudi government — under the leadership of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman — in tackling the human and economic impact of COVID-19. This initiative is in addition to two other initiatives that Jarir undertook in cooperation with various government entities, with the total value of support reaching SR25 million. In support of the Atta Digital campaign, which is sponsored by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Jarir distributed 10,000 new tablets and laptops to enable e-learning for needy students during the lockdown period. This initiative was in cooperation with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, which was in charge of the distribution of the devices to the registered beneficiaries. Moreover, Jarir, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, provided more than 8,000 books and drawing tools to support the efforts of the Ministry of Health to care for guests at the quarantine centers, and provide comfort and entertainment to them. https://twitter.com/JarirBookstore/status/1247569830657523715?s=20
