Presumed Guilty

In the stirring novel Presumed Guilty, Moses Oshoke, a young man struggling to survive in the face of economic and political turbulence in Nigeria, gets caught in an "assassination net."Circumstantial evidence locks horns with the doctrine of presumption of innocence to overwhelmingly indicate that he is guilty.A series of bitter experiences by his fellow inmates unveil the realities of inexcusable police brutality, corruption, and prison system deficiencies. The novel also explores the health hazards of the Niger delta, religious intolerance, rampant unemployment, and obsolete legal norms in dire need of reformation.These problems set the tone for the dreaded judgment day in the young mans case, but is Moses really guilty of the alleged crime?

Two movies have already been produced based on this story, including one entitled "The Bridge Between Us."
