PHOTODYNAMIC THERAPY AFTER ANTI-GLAUCOMA SURGERY

To date, research works are being carried out in the following areas: development and selection of adequate treatment methods; improving the effectiveness of surgical interventions to reduce the frequency and severity of postoperative complications (the use of various drains); improving the prevention of excessive scarring from pathogenetic positions. However, despite all the existing attempts, the long-term results of treatment of NVG still do not satisfy ophthalmic surgeons, due to the high percentage of intra and postoperative complications, including postoperative scarring.In the last decade, in the world, despite the proven effectiveness of the PDT method in the treatment of certain eye diseases, unified methodological approaches to the use of PDT in NVG have not yet been developed. This monograph is devoted to the main aspects of the use of photodynamic therapy in the complex treatment of neovascular glaucoma with experimental and clinical studies.The monograph is intended for ophthalmologists and masters students of medical universities.
