Once again the author transports us back through the mists of time and puts us down in a fog-choked hollow or on top of a cloud-covered mountaintop where we can be entertained by hearing about a quaint episode that legend says once occurred here. However, we may then question it; it sounds so "far-fetched" that we can scarcely believe its true. Did it actually happen as the tale claims, or did the story just spring from the fertile imagination of a gifted storyteller? Its an enigma that intrigued the author as well, and its that very mystery that prompted him to delve further into the tales to see if they contain any kernels of truth or if they have a basis in fact at all.
