In 1810 Englands Mage Society, Miss Phoebe Eaton trains as a Vampire Hunter.

She has only ever used her Lightning magic to spark kitchen fires, until her training officer teaches her to use her power to knock vampire bats from the sky. Kindhearted Phoebe is always one to help others-even if shes rather timid for a fighter.

Constable Jakob Weber is a dashing new member of the Mage law force. He saves Phoebes life during her first disastrous hunt-then mysteriously vanishes. Captured during battle, she is taken to an elegant vampire lair where she reunites with Jakob. He is imprisoned as a blood slave, suffering amnesia and a Glamouring curse. A trio of bloodsucking villains feed upon the two of them, while Mage henchmen trap them in with cruel magic.

If Phoebe cannot harness her powers, and use her wits to destroy the vamps, she and Jakob will suffer death-or a fate much worse.
