Mute Silence

This book is about a 13 year-old girl who has had a pretty hard life. Her parents are both dead, her grandparents are dead and she has no one else. She is now living with a geography teacher, Emily Crondal, who cares for the girl very much. The girl is called Ayva, and she refuses to talk - she only ever talked to her family.
