Mexican Banking Laws

Over the last decade, the impact of globalization on financial markets, specifically banking, has led to an increased need to understand financial systems throughout the world. This book, therefore, makes an in-depth analysis of the evolution of Mexican banking history, covering the years 1876 to 2007. It surveys Mexican economic and political history during this period. This work follows changes in economic policy, particularly in trade and investment, to analyze the effects of a more liberalized market on the banking sector. The book identifies major regulatory changes in the banking sector and the impact of NAFTA in encouraging such changes.
