Manalive

Manalive is a Comedy, Mystery novel written by English writer G. K. Chesterton. The book explores the ""holy fool,"" a popular concept in both Religion and his own philosophy. There are two parts to this book. The first, ""The Enigma of Innocent Smith,"" is about a new resident moving into a London boarding house called Beacon House. The trial is followed in the second part, ""The Explanations of Innocent Smith."" Moses Gould, a joyfully cynical Jew who resides at Beacon House who thinks Smith is at best a fool and at worst a crook, and Dr. Cyrus Pym, an American criminal expert appointed by Dr. Warner, make up the prosecution; Michael Moon and Arthur Inglewood represent the defense.
