Londons Underworld

This work by Thomas Holmes was first published in 1912. It details the authors observations on the conditions and problems faced by the underbelly of London society. It includes chapters on The Nomads, The Disabled, Unemployed and Unemployable, Lodging-Houses, Women in the Underworld, and much more. The final chapter contains suggestions by the author as to how to rectify the issues faced by the lower classes. This is a fascinating read for anyone with an interest in the social conditions in London at the turn of the 20th century.
