Is the American Dream for Anybody?

Diploma Thesis from the year 2010 in the subject American Studies - Literature, grade: 4, Universitنt of Szeged (Dept. of Arts), language: English, abstract: In the following thesis the dear reader will find a lot about E. L. Doctorow, his 1975 novel, Ragtime and anything else in connection with these two. In my thesis I tried to use all the interesting secondary sources I had been able to find in order to collect the most important info one might desire if interested in modern, 20th-21st century American literature, especially in midfiction. Ragtime equals to anything that took place in the turn-of-the-century United States including many names as Ford, Houdini and Nesbit.
