In 1955 Ellie and Paddy are childhood friends until circumstances force Paddy to leave. Twenty five years later Paddy returns to the headmaster job in his old school. The town has hardly changed, people are still struggling with lifes complexities and the mean spirited ones just for the sake of it go against Paddys ideas to make life better for the towns inhabitants. But there is a bright light in the midst of all the turmoil - Ellie.
