CHILD LABOUR

"Child Labour: From Peru to Philippines" is a comprehensive study of the issue of child labour. It covers the ground realities, across 23 countries of the world. The case of India is covered in detail by taking the example of state of Uttar Pradesh. The case study of every nation begins with a historical anecdote; proceeds with a numerous examples and ends with a "philosophical underline". Subsequently, the types, causes and consequences of child labour are analyzed in detail (also enriched with the views of social scientists). Then global "best practices/projects" are discussed, at both macro level and local level. Finally there is a comprehensive list of suggestions to tackle this menace of child labour.
