#3 Calyx is the story of an unlikely friendship: Armin, a good-looking, ambitious young man who has just passed his A-levels with a very good grade point average of 1.0, is doing his community service in a municipal hospital. A big secret is made about a room in which little Dennis is lying. He is infected with an incurable and deadly virus. The virus is transmitted through blood and bodily fluids. Due to his isolation from the outside world and the ruthless control of Doctor Pneuma, he has developed into a little monster. However, Armin does not let this stop him and with patience he wins the little boys trust. His girlfriend Ruth is not impressed. She tries to stop Armin from doing so because she fears infection. But eventually she also succumbs to the charm and maliciousness of little Dennis, and a close friendship begins that must withstand many adventures outside the supposedly safe hospital until the end.
