Broadcasting Chaos follows the harrowing journey of James Smith as he navigates the toxic, exploitative, and manipulative world of corporate radio. After dropping out of university, James becomes entangled in the glamorous yet degrading atmosphere of Manic Radio, where he faces personal and professional manipulation, including coercion by his partner Kylie Morgan and colleagues.

As James struggles with substance abuse, humiliation, and betrayal, his family dynamics become more strained, with his father, Pete, reluctantly realising the extent of his sons suffering. James, with support from Lyra Nott, begins a painful journey to reclaim his autonomy and expose the corruption around him.
