Yorke was born an Army brat in Georgia. Her childhood was spent moving every two to three years in the U.S. and overseas. "My clarity of mind was diminished by my stroke, so I had to learn again how to use my computer and word processing software. I also did brain exercises daily to improve my brains functioning, particularly my verbal skills.
