ANALYSIS OF RETAINING WALL USING DIMENSIONAL ANALYSIS

In conventional methods Retaining Walls are analyzed either by Rankines Theory, Coulombs Wedge Theory, Rebhanns Graphical Method or Culmans Graphical Method. In this study we have tried to make the analysis using different technique used in Fluid Mechanics i.e. Dimensional Analysis. For this we have used Experimental Study on Earth Pressure of Retaining Wall by Field Tests and using this data as control point we have derived new equation for analysis. The results of Experimental Study and Dimensional Analysis are compared and it can be stated that it is possible to formulate a DA for Retaining Wall.
