Alice Sit-By-The-Fire

Alice Sit-By-The-Fire is a delightful and witty play by J. M. Barrie that explores the complexities of family relationships, romantic idealism, and the gap between generations. The story revolves around Alice Grey, a mother returning from India to her children in England after a long absence. Alices daughter Amy, caught up in romantic fantasies inspired by novels and theater, misinterprets her parents relationship and embarks on a misguided mission to "save" them from imagined danger. With Barries trademark humor and insightful character observations, Alice Sit-By-The-Fire is a charming exploration of love, family, and the misunderstandings that arise from youthful exuberance and parental affection. This lighthearted play remains an engaging and timeless commentary on family dynamics and romanticized ideals.
