ALGAE: FROM MICRO TO MACRO

Algae present complexity and immense potential through an in-depth exploration of their characteristics, applications and impact on various sectors. This book highlights their crucial role in marine ecosystems, as well as their capacity to offer innovative solutions to contemporary environmental and economic challenges. In the course of this research, it became clear that algae, whether micro or macro, are much more than a source of oxygen or a component of the food chain. They are proving to be versatile resources, capable of meeting a multitude of human needs, from renewable energy production to food, cosmetics and medicine. Their potential in the fight against climate change, thanks to their ability to capture carbon dioxide and produce biomolecules, is very promising. Algae must be integrated into global economic and environmental strategies. This study underlines the importance of algae as a major player in sustainable development. They represent a potential response to current global challenges.
