On the far side of the great northern mountains, Tag and his family emerge hopeful that their warlike troubles are now behind them. Tag is ready to put down roots and return to a simple life.

But what awaits him in the first town he comes to is a rude awakening. For the army from which he has fled is waiting for him. What was meant to be a haven for his family has become a hornets nest, buzzing with treachery.

However, Tag will also encounter old allies: men who want to draw him back into his old life of war. Can he finally escape a life of violence, or will he be pulled back into the fray?
