Around the World in Eighty Days

First published in 1872, Around the World in Eighty Days is an adventure fiction novel by Jules Verne, a French novelist, poet, and playwright. Vernes writings laid the foundation of modern science fiction quite considerably.

In the story, Phileas Fogg, a solitary British gentleman of the Victorian era, endeavors to go around the world in an 80 days time period or less after a bet with his friends at the Reform Club. He travels via train, elephant, ship, and more in this amazing classic adventure tale.

With his French manservant, Passepartout, Fogg embarks on a grand adventure taking him through Egypt, India, the South Pacific, San Francisco, and the Great Plains of the United States.
