Nursing process in pediatrics: a manual for trainees

The methodological manual "Nursing Process in Pediatrics: A Manual for Trainees" is developed for nursing students, as well as students of medical universities studying in pediatric faculties. It aims to provide a structured and practice-oriented understanding of pediatric nursing care based on the five stages of the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.Special attention is given to the ethical, legal, and cultural considerations relevant to pediatric care in Uzbekistan. Each chapter integrates theoretical foundations with practical applications, enabling learners to develop skills in child assessment, nursing diagnosis, care planning, family-centered communication, and evidence-based intervention. Emphasis is also placed on the importance of teamwork, accurate documentation, and parent education.The manual includes age-specific norms, immunization schedules, developmental milestones, and drug dosage tables tailored to pediatric needs. Clinical cases, questions for group discussions, and self-assessment exercises help reinforce knowledge and prepare students for real-world clinical practice.
