Beyond the Lecture Halls:

India, being one of the top 12 megadiversity countries, has a rich biodiversity that needs to be conserved. However, theres a decline in environmental awareness among youngsters. To address this, our college initiated a field visit study program to observe and learn about faunal diversity.This program aims to provide hands-on experience, foster a sense of wonder, and inspire responsibility towards the environment. Field studies help develop essential skills like observation, recording, and analysis, critical for conservation efforts.By participating in field studies, students gain a deeper understanding of conservation, develop skills like species identification and habitat assessment, and adopt environmentally responsible behaviors. Our program aims to empower future conservationists and inspire a new generation of environmental leaders.This book shares our experiences and insights, hoping to inspire other colleges and institutions to initiate similar programs, promoting environmental awareness and conservation among youngsters. By working together, we can ensure the long-term protection of Indias rich biodiversity.
