Voicing Power: Conversations With Visionary Women

This collection brings together a number of key interviews with some of the most interesting, visionary, and thought-provoking feminist theorists and activists now working in the United States. It provides a detailed exploration into their responses to feminist paradigm shifts, their analyses of the future of the womens movement, and their globally constructed theories for transformational change with an emphasis on positive social change, empowerment, and compassionate action. Illustrating how the womens movement has begun to create the language and the critical mass necessary to effect vital spiritual, cultural, and social transformation, the book offers a fascinating look at how women are moving beyond dichotomizations of culture, resisting or refusing the bifurcations between politics and spirituality. This collection provides cross-cultural and historicized examples of how this integration has been and continues to be realized by women and others who are seeking to transform their societies. This collection will provide an excellent source of contemporary material for courses exploring the confluence of the many branches of feminism, or ?feminisms, ? reflecting womens existing diversity and continued growth as a movement for positive social change.
