Those Who Left and What Remains tells the story of a Spanish family shaped by the great internal migrations of the twentieth century.

Leaving the villages of southern Spain after the Civil War, one generation moved north in search of work and stability. The next grew up between inherited memories and new surroundings, carrying forward names, places and stories that might otherwise have disappeared.
