How Rich Are You?

A wealthy man offered a thousand rupees to a poor dervish ( a holy man).

The dervish asked the rich man, ""You are giving me a thousand rupees. How much do you have for yourself""?

""Many many thousands of rupees"", was the answer

""Do you still hanker after more""?

""Surely yes! Answered the rich man

""Then I cannot accept your offering"", said the dervish. ""For a rich man must not receive one poorer then he""!

""I do not understand,"" said the rich man.

The dervish explained, "" Though I have nothing I desire nothing! You have plenty; and yet desire much more! Surely, the man who desires is poorer than the man who is content with what he has""!
