Rewriting Network News: Wordwatching Tips from 345 TV and Radio Scripts

"Anyone can make a mistake, and everyone does. But smart writers make the most of their mistakes--by learning all they can from them."

In Rewriting Network News, Merv Block collects 345 network scripts that feature problems in grammar, news judgment, broadcast style, and storytelling, not to spotlight sinners, but sins that can be remedied. By reading scripts with the acuity of hindsight, Block offers corrections, comments, and suggestions for improvement. With Blocks helpful tips and advice, smart writers learn what not to do while moving toward what to do.

As a guidebook to writing, and a handy A-Z reference for usage and "abusage," this book will remain on shelves for years.
