Network 4: A young mans story about prejudiced grading, is named after a North Side region of Chicago Public Schools, and we wanted to show how a chain of events both personally and academically and their effects have done. The creation of this book was to spotlight the disparity of treatment between students with the IEP/504 distinctions and without it. This is a historical fiction that reveals incidents that are taking place within and with full involvement of Network 4 staff. While shielding the identities of underage persons, bringing light to this timeline has greatly affected a preteens individuality and confidence. Network 4 is an example of putting faith in a system that in return intends to dim the light of specific person by way of sabotage and harassment documented over the span of middle school grades 6th though 8th. Our voices have felt stifled and silenced and I wanted to give a preteen the chance to take back his power.
