Human Right to an Ecologically Balanced Environment

It is important to recognise the right to an ecologically balanced environment and give it the status of a human right within national constitutions and other domestic legislation, since it is from this that all the conditions for dignified human development and all other animal and plant species are derived. The unplanned and unsustainable use of natural resources, especially non-renewable ones, combined with the use of highly polluting agents, has put life, not just human life, but life in all its forms, under a gloomy prognosis of destruction.
