Half-Tail Rising

For sixth-grader Dolby Hart, the buck stops here--quite literally. For most of his life, Dolby was a nobody. His father left him. His mother also mysteriously abandoned him. But Dolby rises to discover that he has unmatched worth and ability as a half-tail--one who can communicate with whitetail deer. They were always his favorite animal, but now they are his friends--friends who introduce him to the Windmaster and challenge him to view God differently. Because of his unique gift, Dolby is thrust into the middle of a great mystery where his hometowns growing deer population looks to him for protection against an unknown enemy. He partners with deer, two new friends, local farmers, and law enforcement to face this threat. Will he rise to the occasion and save his friends? Will he realize along the way that he, too, needs saving?
