Pollute denotes the act of tainting the purity or sanctity, rendering something foul or filthy; and pollution signifies the process of such contamination. Pollution manifests through the release of substances into the atmosphere, rendering the air unfit for breathing, compromising water quality, or degrading soil health, thereby affecting the well-being of plants, animals, and humans. The accelerated pace of industrialization, expanding urbanization, rapid population growth, increased vehicular traffic, and other human activities have disrupted the equilibrium of the natural atmosphere.
