Colour Outside the Lines

Sarrah Chunawalla is a Grade 10 student with a deep interest in language, empathy, and the stories people carry. Through research, interviews, and reflection, she explores how words shape belonging and how carelessness can quietly cause harm.

Colour Outside the Lines grew from her desire to look more closely at autism, not as a condition to be explained, but as a lived experience deserving patience, dignity, and understanding. Her writing reflects a belief that listening matters as much as speaking, and that awareness begins with attention rather than assumption.

This book is her invitation to pause, to question familiar language, to sit with discomfort, and to look again.
