Basic Concepts in Organic Chemistry: A Programmed Learning Approach

This suite of linear teaching programmes in areas of basic organic chemistry was developed for use by first year undergraduates at Sussex University where it has proved extremely popular. The concepts treated in the seven programmes are fundamental to any introductory course in organic chemistry and include certain intellectual techniques, such as curly arrows which students often find difficult, but which need to be fully mastered. With tutorial time increasingly short, this self-study text should prove invaluable to students of chemistry, biology or pre-clinical medicine taking a first course in organic chemistry.
