This book illustrates drilling fluids technology, including drilling problems related to drilling fluids. After a general review of mud types, properties and the currently used additives (density agents, viscosifiers, thinners, filtrate reducing agents, alkalinity control agents, emulsifiers, lubricants spotting fluids, lost circulation materials, shale inhibitors and hydrogen sulfide scavengers) are described followed by drilling problems related to drilling fluids.
