A hundred thousand died at Hiroshima Why? No one really knows. The futility of war is a theme that echoes throughout Roland Christophers Wild Blue Geraniums. Wherever the conflict is taking place - Japan, Chechnya, Afghanistan, Ireland - and whatever the attempted justification - race, religion, land, money - the devastation is the same. It is always the innocent who suffer and die. Infused with sadness at the lessons we have failed to learn from the twentieth century, this poetry collection focuses on scenes of conflict from around the globe. Reflecting on mankinds selfish destruction we are asked to question a world where natures beauty becomes a backdrop to grief and death. The authors proceeds from the sale of this book will be donated to the charity War Child.
