VENNs MILITARY & MARITIME DISCIPLINE 1672: In Three Books... Military Observations on Tacticks put into Practice for the Exercise of Horse and Foot..

Published just after the Restoration of Charles II, when the modern Army was in its infancy, Thomas Venns Military and Maritime Discipline is a classic manual of the military arts. It contains tactics and manoeuvres proscribed for both Horse and Foot. There are directions for officers, drill, all that the Complete Gunner needs to know, and advice on fortifications and siege works. Originally published in three volumes, this beautifully reproduced and illustrated single volume has all the charm, fascination and detail of the original.
