About this Product
On a sabbatical from his service as a police officer to finish his M.A. in Human Rights at the University College, London, IPS officer Balakrishnan found himself pondering how the present day Indian police compared with their British counterparts. Both forces had been born in London. What was their core philosophy and functioning style? How did they react to similar situations? What were their work conditions and professional challenges? How did the public perceive their actions? Drawing from his experiences as a visiting student as well as his years as a police officer, Balakrishnan asks and answers questions that give him an insight into policing in a shrinking world with expanding networks.
