The Rise of Aviation

The desire to fly has advanced significantly since the days when people used to wonder if they might imitate the motion of birds flying on the wind or the patterns of smoke rising into the air.

Our goal in these pages is to tell the complete story of aerial conquest: how the aviation industry conquered the skies, starting with baloons made hundreds of years ago, moving on to the first serious experiments, with their challenges and triumphs, and finally ending with modern achievements and the latest aircrafts.

The book naturally divides into sections. The origin of balloons and how they were used as a mode of transportation is first narrated, followed by the invention of the aeroplane and the aviation pioneers, the Wright brothers, and finally the jet age, which includes helicopters, handgliders, and modern aircrafts.
