About this Product
This book "The Protection and Safeguarding of Cultural Identity in a Megacity Region: The Case of the Egun People in Lagos, Nigeria" emphasizes the social structure of the Egun (Ogu) people; a diaspora community originally from Dahomey (Benin Republic today). How they (Egun) settled in Badagry and Ipokia (in Nigeria) and formed waterfront communities within the Lagos megacity region. The book critically analyzes the dynamics in the growth of Lagos, its size (452m.sq), population and the human cost of the Lagos State Development Plan 2025.
