The Maiden Voyage of the Starborn

Lon Laker thought he had been Prepared for anything. But then his one-time girlfriend Danith, who refused to come with him to his last posting, and her telepathic-empathic brother Zed are assigned to his new ship, the Starborn. The Admiral commanding this ship served with Lons father, and finds Lon far too similar for his liking. To top it all off, the Starborn is rumored to be cursed. When disaster strikes, Lon finds himself in charge of a damaged ship and a disapproving crew. Even his second-in-command can barely tolerate his strange tactics. It will take every ounce of Preparation he has to get them to safety, but someone on the Starborn will do whatever it takes to keep Lon from succeeding. The Maiden Voyage of the Starborn was Anne Knights maiden voyage into novel writing. This suspenseful sci-fi adventure will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very last page.
